Mental Health Week

Mental illness can happen to anyone at any time and can affect every area of life. To educate the public about mental illness and mental health, the Canadian Mental Health Association began Mental Health Week in May 1952 and has continued this during the first week of May since that time. The purpose of this week is to raise awareness about mental health and sensitize and educate the public. Most emotional disorders are treatable so people can resume a normal life. However, society's view isn't always open to accept these people. Prejudice is slowly dying. Education is finally making people realize there's nothing wrong with mental illness.
